As part of a prestigious development at Pembroke College in Oxford, QGS was appointed to deliver a full façade package in partnership with Beard Construction. Set within the grounds of one of the University of Oxford’s oldest colleges—founded in 1624—the project required a careful balance of high-performance systems and architectural sensitivity.
The package included Schüco FWS 50 SG curtain walling, FWS 50 + FR 60 fire-rated screens, ADS 70 HD SG doors, and AWS 114 SG windows. All systems were installed with 6mm clear 70/35 toughened HST glass, ensuring strong solar control and visual clarity while meeting modern safety and performance standards.

The use of structural glazing helped achieve a clean, frameless appearance, bringing a contemporary edge to a heritage setting. Fire-rated screens were integrated seamlessly to provide essential protection without compromising design intent.
Working within the context of a historic academic institution always brings unique challenges, from logistics to aesthetics. Our team collaborated closely with the contractor and design teams to ensure every detail met both practical and architectural expectations.
This project reflects QGS’s ongoing commitment to delivering precision façade solutions in complex environments where performance, safety, and design integrity are equally important.
